Catfish for a 225 Gallon?

Don't know where you got the max size of 10"-12" from, but they grow larger then that.

There is a big difference between maximum and common sizes in aquariums. My Eclipse Cat can supposedly get up to 18 inches but I have never seen one on google or YouTube that big or a Lima that is 24". But if you have a picture of one that size please share ;)

I have 3 sorubim limas and they max out at 10-12" so they would be fine. Awesome fish.

Personally grew one out to 16" in under 3 years. :) IMO they would work for 2 years though. Why the two year mark?
 
Amazonfishman had a 22" lima at one time. :) was a true monster. Look through his threads to find it or maybe search for 22" lima.
 
Here is a pic of my lima approx 13" i have always wanted one but none of the lfs around me had any recently. But i got lucky and got this one from a fellow mfk
