Honestly even if I won $50 Million bucks I wouldn't leave Canada, great place to bee if you don't mind the climat. In the spring/summer it still gets pretty warm.

lol. you just gave the american the bad impression of good ol'canada! It's not all snow and igloos! TBH, myplace has have any legit snow yet and it's almost christmas!

Btw asian aros are illegal because the fish farms were suppose to repopulate the ecosystem of asian aros but all they do is breed and sell instead of breed and release into the wild like they were suppose to be doing.

So how much for a group of 5 red tail tats be.

Price will vary on area and size of fish. No one can give you an exact cost, just ball park. Iv never seen a tat or scomb for sale so I have no idea on price. Armatus are usualy minimum $100, that's about all I know on payara pricing.

Exactly, it all depends. Expect to pay anywhere from $40-$80 per scomb, probably $100-$120 per tat or more depending on size. Hard to find them under 6", maybe when they come back in next season. Look in the vendor sections for ballpark figures, even if they don't have them in stock at least you can see what they've charged for them in the past.

I agree. Contact some of the vendors on here and see if they can at least give you a price quote. As far as I know payara aren't "in season" anymore so you may have to wait a little bit.

In my experience, most vendors on here want about $200 for a ~6" tat. Sometimes they pop up for less, but not too often. There seems to be a very big push for tats lately over armatus as it's becoming more and more well known that tats stay small enough to be easily kept for life in a tank that doesn't need to pretend its a swimming pool. Because of this, tats cost as much and sometimes more than armatus.

If you look around though, you can get some great deals. I only paid $40 for my tat!

I wouldn't buy 5 tats for over 350 bux IMO. I bet you can get a deal with that many tats that you want. 200 bux for a single tat is a complete robbery. Well actually the price might depend on location.

As far as the American internet dealers go, that seems to be about par for the course. I can't speak for local prices as the nearest dealers that have that kind of fishes are about 300 miles away from me.

tats are far more common to get in the states than Canada I believe. It's only this year that tats are sprouting around Canada. Man, i think that me, slippy k and payarakeeper are the only ones that have armatus in our entire province! The last time I asked an exotic fish importer about getting armatus, he said that they were "impossible to get!"
