There's an infinitesimally small chance of your kid getting shot at school. However if you homeschool the kid, there's a 100% chance it'll turn out batpoop crazy. I've NEVER met a mentally well-adjusted homeschooled kid. You need to spend your time around other kids your age when you're growing up, not your parents all the time.

Great point. Kids need plenty of social interaction starting from a young age to develop into normal adults. Keeping them locked indoors and away from the world while they're growing up is a surefire way to turn them into sociopaths and you'll do more harm than good.

While I can't guarantee that the child will grow up into a lunatic I do agree that the lack of social interaction is a drawback of homeschooling...We looked into it for my son as an alternative to the public schools here and the interaction issue was the first thing that came to mind.

Great idea until a kid brings a gun to school and a teacher shoots them, what a mess that'll be. Or just imagine if a kid attacks a teacher and manages to get the gun from them-then what?

that is the purpose of a teacher to bring a gun to school, to shoot bad people that bring guns to school

What if a teacher shot that kindergardener who brought a handgun to school recently for protection? Maybe all they saw was a kid with a weapon and reacted and ended up killing someone who was just scared and made a very poor judgemental decision?
