Whats going on in this world?

Moral breakdown of the human race. Starting with the family. Both parents working, kids in daycare, kids coming home to empty house after school. Single parent families. Crap on television, in the movies, and in video games. Need I go on?

This is just wrong... my wife and I work, are you saying something's wrong with that? My kids are in daycare - are they going to turn into killers? Actually they are more well behaved than kids I know who don't go to daycare. They share better and follow instructions and are much less 'bratty' than the kids I know who don't go to daycare. The social interaction has been great, and they've made more friends than we could've provided if they stayed at home with mom.

Single parents can raise a kid just fine. Would you rather the kid be in an abusive environment just to have two parents than be raised by a single parent?

And censorship in movies, television and video games is ridiculous. If the parents do their job and limit what their kids are exposed to then everything is fine. The 2 Live Crew album 'As Nasty As they Wanna Be' was banned in the late 80's and look how ridiculous that action looks now.

There's no moral breakdown of anything. There always have and always will be bad people and good people. Deal with it...

I still don't think society is getting worse. It's just a lazy argument because you don't have to think about, or haven't lived through the past.

I don't think there is a 'moral breakdown' going on at all. To accept this, you must accept that there was a period when society had perfect morals, or at least very high morals. I don't think this period exists. If it did, please enlighten me. There has always been crime and horrors inflicted upon people, children, etc. since the beginning of time.

i am not talking about religion .. i am not talking about single responcible people who are ready to raise a child .. i am talking about children born to people who don't want them.. were not ready for them.. were just fooling around..... etc.......... nothing to do with religion.. just the opposite type of person ready to raise a child by giving them a good foundation and love .........

Well you did say wedlock, implying that kids born to people who aren't married can turn out to be bad kids. The institution of marriage guarantees nothing. I've seen plenty of scumbag married parents who in turn raise scumbag kids. And plenty of single parents who raise some of the nicest most polite kids I've encountered.

there will and always will be some evil in society.. back when i was growing up we rarely saw it because you did not have internet or world wide news etc.. so we all kind of lived in our own little world.. but thats how in my mind children should grow up..soon enough their childhood and all their little innocent dreams turn to reality of life called maturity.. A CHILD should enjoy their childhood with lots of love and security whether it is with one parent or two or even three.. numbers do not mean much.. it is the quality that and love given.. society has changed.. not so bad that it is drastic change.. but theres alot more tolerance and acceptance .. which is okay too.. but children need substance and consistency to thrive.. we cannot be whishy washy bringing them up.. they need solid ground work.. to get their footing for lifes rocky path. here is a video that makes me remember my childhood.. it was different.. i don't know if it was all better.. but it was good.. http://oldfortyfives.com/TakeMeBackToTheFifties.htm

you have very bad lanquage skills.. no children i have ever met in my entire life should be referred to as ? they are mixed up or left behind or in need of help...and i never said that single unwed parents are not good parents.. all i said was there are alot of children born out of wedlock because the person took no precaution to protect themselves from having a child they would not want or could not care for..

I appreciate what you're saying, and I'm glad you had a good childhood experience. I'm not trying to start an argument here...

but that really is whitewashing history. I could point out plenty of things wrong with the fifties, beginning with racial discrimination and violence and all the way to the horrific murder of the Clutters, but I don't want to violate the TOS.

I just can't buy your argument that society has changed for the worse. Not sure where you were going, but I think tolerance and acceptance is a good thing.

I will do my part to be consistent for my kids, but I won't be talking about some ideal past (ok, except rock n roll). I think things are getting better. At least they won't be working in a factory when they're 11...
