you might be surpised at the amount of faders you get. I was. Mine are from unfaded parents and there were a few that were faded at a tiny size and more and more are fading every day. Some of the best ones I have growing out right now looked grey or brown and kind of ugly when they were small.

Yea I got lucky and found 2 small males at a LFS that the owner took on a trade in and a local MFK member gave me a female calico for free. I also got my lastest male RT from him.

As much as i really want to, Im just going to leave them. This is her first so I want the mom to learn how to take care of her eggs. Hopefully the fungus doesnt spread too much because the eggs are fertilized and I see little eyes inside of them. :headbang2

Thanks guys.

Looks like around 40-50% of the eggs have fungus.

2 female calicos...:nutkick:

They do look good in breeding dress BUT my all time fave is a cyano in their breeding dress

Ill definitely try and keep all of them to see if there any late bloomers. Would you take a guess on how many % faders you have out of your batch?

My bad 2 female calicos! And 1 "female" red texas, right? LOL JK.

Nothing new. They're still clumped up inside the pot. But I did come up with a name for their dad. Since he's ice blue and beefy I decided to name him Mr. Freeze after Arnold Schwarzenegger in Batman.

Some news pics of my favorite. I REALLY hope he's fertile.

Yeah, keep your hopes up man, anythings possible. My brother just gave me a 3" Shortbody Carpintis male that is PROVEN fertile too. And since its rare for a male RT to be fertile, if your RT fader ever breeds, you can call him Arnold's other character, " The Sperminator "

And that is a Badd Asss Family pic

Congrats man. Keep us updated

LOL. Thanks!

I might keep the fry in the 75 and remove the parents because there's an abundance of algae that the fry will love grazing on or move them to a 40 gallon breeder and possibly let the parents do their thing again.

Thanks. Will do!

I guess I cant upload photobucket videos. I was trying to post a video of the mom being very very protective.

The next step. Tweety and my fading male RT. They seem to tolerate each other and Tweety is going to his side a lot.

The divider has little holes so Tweety can go to either side but i guess my male can too cause he originally started on the left side.

I put him in here last night and ever since then hes been doing a lot more digging, attacking the divider, heater and the glass. Something hes never done before in my community tank but his colors are a lot better now.
