WTF???
You are on food stamps and yet trying to keep one of the most expensive tropical fish there is in terms of feeding?
This is just wrong on so many levels.
I am a taxpayer, so in effect I and the rest of taxpaying USA will be feeding your rays for you...and I seriously object to that!!!!!

Umm genius I do have a job and pay taxes and bills just like every one else.

Anyways back to the point of the thread. Something must be working cause my wife just told me he's getting bigger

The worms are in a fridge back in the hunting section. I've never fed Pollock, and I've never herd of anyone feeding brine shrimp?

Sent from my LG-P999 using MonsterAquariaNetwork App

Fishing worms can have chemical scents and be dangerous to fish, make sure their unscented! Talapia and some pellets are great

Seriously you guys sound like idiots. What you mad Romney isn't president and poor people like myself still get foodstamps? If you really must know . I only work 8-16 a month making 9.10 an hour. Divide that up that's what $36 a week and $103 in stamps a month. Now you got the math please explain how am I supposed to support myself wife and son off of $248 a month and still pay rent light gas and what my new born needs like diapers wipes and formula?

Anyways back on topic. I must have done something right. He's now eating tilapia and pellets on his own. Last night I threw in some pellets he ate without a problem. This morning I chopped up some tilapia and was going to mix with bloodworms but I forgot to thaw the bloodworms so I just threw in the tilapia . I was surprised when he went straight up to the tilapia and started eating. Thanks for the help guys.

So even you agree that you cannot afford to feed your family but you can afford a ray?...and you call other people idiots? LOL
DUDE...YOU ARE ON FOOD STAMPS FFS!.
It is evident from your original questions that you have not bothered to do any research on rays, basic things you should have thought about before you bought this animal. You take the lazy option of posting a thread that only really reveals how little you know and that you haven't even read the stickies up top.

IME BUYING RAY IS THE CHEAPEST PART. The first ray will eventually cost you an average of around $20 per week, if you factor in all the actual costs, food, utilities, water , tank, filters etc etc., especially food and utilities.
That is over $1000 per year. I wonder what a family with such financial difficulties as yours is in ( as you describe them) could do with an extra $1k per year .......
"how am I supposed to support myself wife and son off of $248 a month and still pay rent light gas and what my new born needs like diapers wipes and formula?".... I would say STOP making impulse buys of expensive fish that you know almost nothing about and thus have a minimal chance of success with.
Now YOU know the math.

Congratulations on your new son. I hope he will bring light and joy and a better understanding of household budgeting into your lives.

ps
politically, for me, Romney was a robot, Obama was my choice , as the lesser of 2 evils, as even he is fairly right of center in global terms, the USA being now one of the most politically right wing countries in the world

I never said I agreed with you. Obviously I can maintain my family. Never said I couldn't afford to feed my family or ray either. Its obvious I can if I do it every month. So what if I'm on food stamps. Its there for people who need. As for the ray goes I did my research and more. The thread was for a particular food that I was unsure about using cause of nutritional value and how would I got about getting it to eat different foods. I didn't buy the ray it was given to me from a owner of a lfs I worked at. I've been taking care of this ray since October since no one bought it. It was given to me obviously if I kept it alive for that long I know what I'm doing and have success if I accomplished what the thread was made for. So please stop making assumption about me when you don't know me from a hole in the wall.
