Why New Life Spectrum???

i've heard a few people saying that there fish don't like NLS and won't eat it, i've been using NLS for the last 2 years and have had great results and healthy fish and have never had a problem with fish taking it until now.
i picked up a couple of istlamuns that had been fed on frozen bloodworm and tetra and they absolutely refused NLS the female would pick at the pellets and then spit them out but the male wouldn't even look at them but after a bit of perseverance they are now both eating it no problem it took me about 10 days to get them to fully take it but well worth it to get them onto NLS
 
As i have already said in a similar discussion, fish in a community setting are much more prone to accept whatever you feed them. All my monsters, Aros, large Midevils, Jaguars, Mayans and Clown Knife eat whatever i throw in there, and they all switched to nls 7.5. Even the ck comes to the top, glass banging, when it was used to massivore.

Solo fish i find are more difficult to change. Some of mine switched completely and now spit massivore out. Some still prefer massivore.

But with the one footers i find that the 7.5 goes much easier than the 3 mm sinking pellet.

And yes, now that it has been mentioned, poop is completely different, more solid, more formed, mire brown, in fact.

NLS doesn't really have carnivore based foods as they have a relatively uniform set of ingredients for all their foods. Pellet size is the main thing. You can feed the stuff to marine fish to big cats and cichla. Just have to match pellet size to fish size.

Amazon is where i got mine from and is best bought in bulk where the price outdoes its competitors with ease (2.2 lbs of massivore for about 50$, 5lbs of NLS of any formula is around the same pice).
 
Thanks for the replies RD, Forrest, and Miguel. I will try some of the 7.5mm out. All my umbees are on massivore so they are the large carnivorous fish I was referring to.

IMO NLS beats out hikari no matter what fish your feeding it to. Also its way more cost effective than feeding Massivore and Carnisticks. Its about quality of ingredients and using proper ratios and honestly a fish food that compares its nutrition to #'s of goldfish which are terrible for your fish.
 
MrMann what i suggest you do with your umbees is try the 6mm sinking pellet to get them to make the switch since its both large and sinks like massivore and then once they switch over if they chew too much and pellet dust is extruded switch to a smaller size. My umbee pair (15.5"-13"+) eat mostly 3mm but they will also go just as nuts for 1mm as 6mm. Once they realize its food they wont care if its small or large. Also I have found that a lot of the time if the pellet is too big its hard to get fish to switch to NLS as they arent use to such dense food and when its too big its just too much work for them to get enthused over.
