Why New Life Spectrum???

You sound like Petspoilers husband Crimsonfrog!

Like that they will never change over.

LOL, exactly!

I'm afraid that with some fish it's simply not in their best interest to be provided with tasty snacks.

If I only ate what I really liked, I'd be eating pizza 7 days of the week. :)

A couple times a week I give my umbees dessert (freeze dried bloodworms) only after theyve finished their dinner (nls)

Why use any kind of pellet ? None are truly healthy for your fish because its all man made. It's like feeding a dog kibble, sure it might be the best brand of kibble but its still kibble.. pellets are just low grade food any fish will look better and live longer with frozen or live foods that they naturally eat in the wild.

I am not sure of that. Live or frozen in a closed environment takes a heavier toil on water, imho, than pellets. And our tanks are no rivers or lakes unfortunately.

+1 And I'm not convinced that even fresh fish from open waters can compare to the nutritional value of a well made pellet. I don't follow the logic that just because they are man-made that they are automatically inferior. Can you elaborate on that point?

And I'm guessing that you have all sorts of scientific data & studies that will support that view? :)

Many fish that have been kept long term in captivity, and fed commercial dry food their entire lives, have lived longer than average lives compared to their wild counterparts.

With most species of fish it's near impossible to replicate exactly what they would eat in the wild, and even if one could doing so wouldn't guarantee that ones fish would look better, or live longer, especially when kept in the confines of a glass box.

I use a mixture of freeze dried foods(earthworms, bloodworms, mysis shrimp, krill), veggies(zuchinni, carrots, leafy greens) and pellets(NLS thera A, Massavor, Hikari and NLS algae wafers)...

My fish eats everything, but bloodworms and krill are their favorites.

Mine love Blood Worms.
