How much would 6" female fastae worth?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
nice looking fish. if it was brighter it'll be worth alot. But i'd do around 20. im cheap though :D.

apparently you dont know much about festae... females color always fade in and out depending on mood or breeding.

if its a true feaste, and at 6 inches, maybe 40.00?

Definitely a festae, no mayan there.

Thanks! Yeah! I've had her since she was at 1.5" and took about year and a half to reach her size (and that's pretty fast for a fastae her sibling is still sitting at around 4"). I just can't find decent male to breed that's why I am thinking of selling her. I do have smaller male and female so I'll probably have to take a chance there.

I think she is a beautiful female and i wouldnt let her go for less than 150$!!! especially since she has laid eggs already.

That much for a festae $150? Even when they are so easy to acquire in the states? They are very rare in my city. I sold a 4" for $30. And now selling a beauty 5" female for like $30 but with the promis of fry....... :p. I'd pay up too $30 for her!

I need to spark up my fish life

Lol that's nothin if you want quality! My f1 breeder females I bought from roadrunner. Top quality!!! Will go for around 250-300$ but yeah some people don't place a high value on fish and others do, especially when you know with out a doubt that you have top genetics. Shoot, my 10" breeder male is goin for 250$ and if I had that female it would fo for around 100$.

I mean it would be a different story if I didn't know the lineage, genetics, or etc. Then yeah is sell anywhere from 50-85$ but since I do know the lineage and quality if this guys festae, I put a higher price tag. I am only selling my breeder festae for so much cause of what I pair to obtain them. And I'm not into loosing money. All the fry I get from them or my wild group will be all under 150$ unless I sell pairs. Mostly because I believe in spreading good genetics and why should I charge an ARM n leg.

Truth be told!!!! Thank you!

Quality is in the fish. Not the seller. . What's important is the fish itself. Because what U see is what you will get. That's the actual truth.
The price for the quality shouldn't base on who sells the fish but the quality of the fish itself.

Using seller name to brand the fish is pretty artificial and insecure. The real brand of the fish is Faith. Whatever god gives in the fish. These are not materials you hand make. A fish coming from a popular seller does not make it a better fish but only a trust. One should judge the fish for the fish. After all U are keeping the fish. Some know what they have without needing a popular seller name to back anything because they truly about the fish for their enjoyment and not about the market nor critics.

It is always nice to know the parents of the fish. That's more important than who the seller. In seller you want trust. In fish you want quality. Two different things.

Breeder and sellers are different too. Dedicated breeder relates to quality rather than popular or trusted seller. When U want quality fish, U go to the person that concentrates on that one breed and not just a seller. But it still comes down to the fish itself. But lots of you value wild caughts. U hardly get quality in wild caughts. They are just caught. Not quality selected breeds.

Anyways! It's All About The Fish.

Sorry. Im saying too much.

If this was my festae, I'll put a serious selling price for $80 while assuming she's worth $50-$100.

They are using UK as a reference to the quality. Everyone that is into Festae knows that UK had awesome bloodlines and quality....that is all. All they are trying to convey is the origins of the fish so a potential buyer will know the quality is there. What I am getting from your post animal guy is that you can tell the quality of the fish without knowing it origins....Do you have ESP or something similar when you buy fish? Or do you like to come in and try to derail as many threads as you can? Looks to me like you talk in circles half the time. Not trying to flame you but....

To me "who is the breeder" is more to do with how the parents look like, rather than if the breeder is famous or a very active member or anything. And I do get that you can look at the fish and obviously decide for yourself if its the look you want. Nothing wrong with it. Genetics can never be "inferred" by looking at the fish: we are left with believing the person who say they are wild caught, or came from so and so breeder. The ultimate test is how the fish looks like (to me). Of course it helps to know if it was bred from good parents, or if its progeny of wild festae and I personally attach a premium to that.
