This is true, but wasn't it in effect a 'plea bargain', and he was promised by the then head of BB Ueberoth and then Giamatti, that after 2 or 3 years he would be ok again?
Then they totally reneged. The thing is, of course he shouldn't have been betting at all , for a lot of very good reasons, but he always bet on his team,to win.
HOF is mostly for players first, managers second, he was betting as a manager, didn't bet ( or wasn't busted for it) as a player, and as a player is is for sure one of the best there ever was.
Caveat:
I have met Pete Rose , spent an afternoon with him a few years ago, I think he remains banned because he is a really hard person to like ( to put it mildly) . Man...Charlie Hustle sure could play baseball tho!
 
I feel like juicing has just become a normal thing. I think it takes the same amount of hard work to achieve the benefits. Your just putting your body in optimum levels to repair things faster, build better, and lift heavier. You still need to diet, train, and bust your butt! If your not cheatin your not tryin! lol

As a relative young buck considering the topic, I did not know that. I agree that his playing career spoke for it's self...maybe if he hadnt lied for 20 years they'd stop holding a grudge?

You should have.She was probably wearing the shirt to get a reaction from someone and she shouldn't have been too shocked to have someone ask her about the situation...Oprah's probably pissed.

so he ended up confessing huh? what does that do to the lawsuits he won? does he gotta pay them back?
 
I never thought for a minute he didn't juice.............could this possibily come as a surprize to anyone? Really?
