Tank prepped and ready for TATF (in transit)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Awh man pictures were moved or deleted. I just ordered my TATF as well from fugupuff. Can't wait for this guy to come home. I took some of the advice in this thread about getting dithers. My vatf is following them quite nicely. So close to it eating pellets. It chomped on one but spit it out.

Crap, I don't know what happened to all of the pictures, they're all still in the same folders that they're linked to. I'll move therm to Dropbox and repost them all tomorrow.

Any updates?

I'l try to get some pics of him tonight if I can, but all in all he's about the same. Maybe 5 to 5 1/2" now, he is starting to put on some bulk finally instead of only getting longer. He has now killed everything in the tank with him except for a single red platy, not that I really cared since I was planning to keep him solo but I thought it was funny that he wiped a whole tank out by the time he hit 5"...

I've decided to breed convicts as feeders for him, he does go for the occasional flake that falls down when I feed the fish in the tank, but he never eats more than a bite. I've already went almost 2 weeks without feeding live on 2 separate occasions to get him off of live, and he doesn't change his habits at all. I don't really plan on pushing him at this point, I'll just gut load his convict feeders full of high end pellets and feed him until I feel like he's too big to bother with trying to keep up with breeding food for him. I've already got a pair of convicts set up and ready to go, I'm hoping they get started popping eggs out here soon, the closest place to me that sells feeder guppies is about 20 miles away.

I did some moving around of some equipment, and decided to try and severely max out all flow in one direction across the top of the tank so that it would come back across the bottom as much as possible. Definitely made a difference, I can see my crypt wendtii plants blowing around like they're in a hurricane now lol. The TATF now likes to sit up top in the flow and looks like he's swimming in a current pool or a treadmill, he seems to really enjoy it. Every time I go in there, he's messing around in the flow.
