So in the beginning phases of my physical hunt for fogo I have decided to go to my fathers home in Florida and do some cichla fishing. I have purchased all the permits I need andnwould like to know how many of u would be interested in various sizes and types of cichla if I can successfully harvest and transport them back home. Let me know. My Fla. Trip is scheduled for April.

haha.... very funny.. i do not think i will run into any fogo down there but there is always a chance. this trip is more to get to know the fish and how they "FISH". what to use, what type of cover to look for, depth, temp. ect. thats why the title of this thread is "cichla mono and other common types" so if you are interested in obtaining some wild caught cichla than maybe you should stay in touch rather than poop on my hopes. thanks
Thanks, i already have 10 wild caught cichla, orinos, azuls, brokopondos, and pleiozona. Dont really want to add mono or ocell. Would really like to add a bunch of fogo. If you find a few extra i will be able to pick them up.
How much would you charge for babies? And what permits do you need to keep some? I'm goin with my dad in summer and would like to keep some babies

not too sure.. prices would be very fair tho due to the fact that i wouldn't be able to house the allotted amount of fish you can obtain and transport for very long. if it worked out i would plan on doing a trip down there every 3 weeks or so during the spring and summer months.
don't get caught.. it's actually illegal to transport the peacocks you catch in florida alive. they are worried of release in other locations.. I can neither confirm nor deny that i have done this though.. 
Also i just got back and if I were you I'd wait till march or April.. fishing is much better due to water temps rising. I saw aroung 50 fish but, only caught 2. usually catch 40+ a day on summer trips

Actually there is a permit readily available for purchase which allows you to obtain and transport a specific number of cichla per week. Purchased it last year and renewed this year already. I am legally ready to catch and transport pbass. Thanks for the input though. What locations do u recommend? I hear the ti Miami canal is typically hot! Let me know and thanks again
