cannot agree more, BUT, he stayed within the very basics of the issue, imho.

Death penalty, above and beyond the errors, above and beyond the existence of a system that " lawfully" kills people, has no deterrent effect. It not only solves nothing, but increases the problem.

Unless one looks at it strictly from an economical point of viwe, and compares costs of imprisonmnt to costs of execution...
But now it is me who is digressing....

are we sure (or even close to sure )about their expertise on these things ?cant imagine tommy jefferson debating the stresses of SINGLE MOTHERHOOD or .....estate planning for the middle income senior(middle class non-existant in that time)... just saying... these guys did great things ... but the ECONOMY .... dictates EVERYTHING NOW .... yep... every economy needs a GROWTH INDUSTRY ... PRISONS ARE EASY..... JUST FIGURE OUT WHAT THE PEOPLE IN THE LOWEST INCOMES DO FOR FUN ... AND MAKE IT ILLEAGLE... PROBLEM SOLVED
