Ideas for Oddballs in a 135 Gallon Tank?

I have a 135 gallon (72x18x24) tank that I need to stock and I want to do something different. There are a lot of fish that I haven't kept and I feel like it is time to branch out. It looks like I have found a home for the last few SA cichlids, so the tank will be empty soon (I can move them into a different tank any time). The water is filtered by a large sump with 20% daily water change via an automatic system. The pH is 7.6 and the hardness is about six degrees. Temperature is 79 degrees.


Requirements:
Not a cichlid (I love them, but want something different)
Can live in a 135 for a long time, if not life
Grows fairly large (6"+)

It could be one fish, a school, or a few different fish.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated - I have a couple but I really don't know what I want to do.... :popcorn:

Holy crap that's a lot of filtration! A large shoal of exodons would look cool.
 
I think that a senegal birchir would be pretty cool as well as a knife fish, like a bgk. Maybe a school of tinfoil barbs, clown loaches are super fun. As a center pice fish maybe a selection of angel fish (altums) ?

I would love a Juruense, but I am afraid it might outgrow the tank too quickly? Exodons could be cool, but will they shred/nip anything else you put in? I am not necessarily looking for a predator, although as long as they can be trained onto pellets I'm not opposed.

Yeah, I have a DIY problem.... I am definitely going to research Exodons - The Wet Spot stocks them, too, so availability isn't a problem.

I have thought about both polys and some sort of knife. I really like the look of the Royal Clown Knives, but I'm afraid they might outgrow the tank (not to mention that I have never seen one for sale). No Angels, as I've kept a lot in the past.

Some south american leaf fish, butis butis, crocodile fish(Luciocephalus pulcher), african butterfly fish, and some spiny eels.

Interesting choices, I like the SA Leaf Fish idea!

Right on, I was thinking they were more similar to a TSN in size/temperament.

Anableps - They are cool, you can breed them and they are not to hard to keep.
