Yes, your opinion is very different than the thousands on here who know better. Best of luck.

And the very same could go for you from thousands of reef and salt enthusiasts who know better on this subject than you do. Best of luck.

Sorry to say it but reef tanks have open tops as a rule. No matter how many clownfish jump out it wouldnt cover the cost of over cooking a reef. Egg crate would be caked with salt within a week so that's not really a good option. Just keep an open top and if a clownfish wants to commit suicide every once on a while, so be it.

I have a reef tank - I have no lid as lids restrict the intensity and amount of light that is delivered to the tank- egg creates limit, plastic restricts, glass just plain reflects off - corals are so dependent on lite it is the best option IMO.

Fish jump out of tanks because they are uncomfortable - not enough room, incorrect water conditions, disease, bullying, no territory left to be had, etc...

Salt creep would be your enemy there. There just isn't a whole lot you can do. If fish keep jumping I suppose you could lower the water level a couple inches so its harder to get out, but open tops are the way to go.

Yeah, Thanks man, Though speaking of water level my level was like 3 inches off.. I guess they were good jumpers. Anyway Thanks again.
