TELL US YOUR FAVORITE CICHLID, WHY IS THAT CICHLID YOUR FAVORITE, DO YOU OWN ONE, SHARE PICS STORIES ETC , i been around jags, dempseys, doviis, saums, texas cichlid,red devils and such and my fav is the jag so far but im only 18 and just upgraded from a 55to a 125 so that can change as my experience grows
 
My Fav would be Blood Parrot Hybrid...I have one and his demeanor is Chill...his look is like no Other...and he is a total Goofball...I swear he looks like he is smiling...

I wish the cichlid guys would stay in their section, sometimes feels like general aquatic discussion is the "cichlid and general aquatic discussion"

and if I had to pick one? Ptychochromis Oligicanthus
 
Although I have cichla currently my favorite is the Emperor Cichlid.

Of the cichlids I have kept, my favorite would be julidochromis transcriptus, because of their gorgeous markings, elongate bodies, and the way they move. They are also the only fish I have bred
