I picked up an old 125 gallon tank off craigs list. At 75 bucks i couldnt let it go. Its 3'x3'x'2, I plan on makeing it the center pice of my basement. I would like to stock it with some African Chiclids, I perfer a male show tank butI have reservations do to its lack of length. Any thoughts on an alternative or do you think I could pull it off. Species only is apealing also. Input of what species and number of fish is greatly apreciated. Thanks.

mbuna with a tall stack of rocks in the center would be pretty cool. idk if you'd be able to get away with peacocks... 3 feet isnt a whole lot but with a center, high rock stack you cut off the line of site and make a 360 swim area around it. so who knows, it might be fine. just my opinion.
not sure where others disagree there Stevie that is the general rule with africans (mainly mbuna) but id say you could easily do Mbuna. eg 6 yellow labs, 6 red zebras, 6 acei and 6 demasonii for example should be fine.
