My fish has a False Fungal Infection, and I'm wondering how to treat it, and if I should treat the whole tank.

Thanks a lot!

I never heard of a false fungal infection. What are the symptoms? Columnaris is sometimes misdiagnosed, due to having a fungal appearance in some instances. Is that what you are refering to?

Water change plus melafix or pimatix depending on which one would treat your infection best. Poor water quality is the number one cause of fungal infections so a water change is an absolute must. I generally do a 50% change when I see anything that looks like fungus in my tank.

And yes you should treat the whole tank. Fungal infections spread like wild fire.

Yes thank you that's what it is! How should I treat it? I have two cory cats as well idk if they are sensitive to treatments

Columnaris isn't even diagnosable until necropsy is done.

It is most likely cotton mouth. Do a water change and treat with either melafix or pimafix. Either will work.

Columnaris is not actually an illness but rather a symptom caused by an internal bacterial infection. Since it is not diagnosable until after examination of a corpse it is most likely you have a fungal infection.

Melafix and pimafix don't work. I just talked to my buddy and he used both with no success. what are some other treatments for fungus??
