At this point I think Silva has the better subs and he's very relaxed on his back. He also has a solid chin and is difficult to cut and damage.
Vitor was very close to subbing Jones and I could see Silva getting a similar position and finishing.
The biggest difference though is the striking. Silva hits hard, he's accurate and very tricky. I think that Jones reach would work against him. Anderson is a master at judging distance and countering; Jones doesn't always bring his hands back defensively which is how Lyoto tagged him.
Very hard fight to call.

Have you seen Jones elbows? He uses them in every fight and it really damages his opponents. Not only that, Jones kicks are quick.

Great clip and use of the SAW theme...I can't wait to see Bones chew up chael.
 
No question he has great kicks and elbows, he shattered Vera's face with elbows. I'd say Jones elbows on the ground are his best weapon. But after Jones vs Rampage, Jones couldn't even stand because his feet were busted from Rampage blocking his kicks.
Silva has the only uppercut elbow KO I've ever seen and has some great head kick KO's. Jones is still very young in his career and hopefully he'll add some head kick KO's and such, but Silva's kicks are harder and faster right now.
Anderson has great counters and Jones leaves a lot of openings after he strikes, including when he's on the ground.
The more we talk about it, the more I need to see it haha.

We'll have to cross our fingers and hope the fight will happen.


Any Igor Vovchanchyn fans? He is a legend. For his short height and small size, he tore through all his fights.

Igor was one of the hardest punchers of all time. He took some bad losses late in his career, but he had a very entertaining style and very similar to Fedor.
 
Both are sambo fighters and make good use of the "casting punch". I wouldn't be surprised if Fedor watched Igor to perfect it.
