Running a magnum 350 without turning it on

That is a crazy setup my friend. Is there really any point to the middle tank? Why don't you just set up a traditional sump plumbing setup and just run the mag 350 with the intake and output in the main tank as well?

Idk. Makes it easier for me. Fill 1 tank fill them all. Drain 1 tank drain them all. I can always separate each one to if I have to.

One major problem with your idea of one fill to fill all tanks is if you have a problem with one tank it spreads everywhere. If you keep up on your w/c you should be okay but something thats easier for day to day maintenance may cause a huge head ache down the road.

Another idea to prevent the magnum from draining a tank is to drill a hole in the outlet line a little bit down below the water level. If the pump dies, then your main tank water will lower, that will break the siphon on your magnum and it will stop draining water and dumping it into your tank.

Ideally, you should make a manifold that runs from your return pump and has a seperate line and valve to each tank, or have each tank have its own pump from the sump with its own line. If youre that worried about having a community sump thats the safest bet.
