This is the way i've always looked at work:

"If you love what you do you'll never work a day in your life..."

This has proven to be true for me on every level, when i first started out at the work force i did what i had to, to pay bills at jobs i didnt really enjoy and hated every minute...

Then i said forget the money, im young and time to make mistakes, then started doing things that i enjoy, which ha since led me to opportunities i could have only dreamed of before...

Now most of the people i know who are most successful are all people who actually enjoy what it is they do, and because of that they are all excelling and making a decent wage too...

Since I was a kid I've always looked at life this way, I'm against doing something you hate for money, life is not about paying bills being a "productive member of society" and supporting a government knowone agrees with. its about being happy and making people in your life happy. I fight mma because I absolutely love it and its my Passion it has nothing to do with money because I make crap from it compared to costs. when you work a 9-5 job you hate your a slave to money, and money isn't worth stress and time, I make all my money from legal herbs and vegetables and its more than enough to support myself and ill never have to work a day in my life and I'm a happy person for it.

Not many people enjoy working for a living. It is just something that has to be done to survive. Can't raise a family on a low paying job. I seriously doubt being poor and working at a job you like will bring long term satisfaction.
 
^ i think that is where the problem lies... Too many people think they cant make money doing what they love...

For example, if you like art, find a design type job, or maybe join the design team of a creative firm...

If you love talking to people and doing something different join an event management company...

Too many people dont use there natural skills and gifts to do what they enjoy...

Looking at me when i was younger, i liked street fashion and sneakers, so i worked at a sneaker blogging website for a while which is now one of the top street wear websites...

That then led me to doing event management from the hook ups i made working with the website, and now im at a point where i've had the opportunity to work with some of the worlds top street artists, and street wear brands from around the world...

Not to mention the millions of other projects i deal with such as smart phone apps, products design etc...

All naturally things i enjoy doing, or i wouldnt be doing it :)

Not many people who get ground down on a daily basis by a job they hate, overseen by bosses who treat them as slaves, come home worn out and at the end of their ropes mentally going, "Well at least I made good money, that's all life is." If you're always in a bad mood, tired, in need of some type of stress relief the money is not that important. You can't spend it when your dead and unless your family hates you, they're not going to thank you either for your selflessness.
