when you work on your tanks alone

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I put my glass 350 gal up on a 42" stand with one friend. Wasn't fun.

2 weeks later it busted and had nobody around to help with the fish and tank. didn't have much of a choice.

I got the tank off the stand and onto the ground solo. Ended up with a slight bicep tear and couldn't workout for over a month.

Been there done that. I hate moving tanks 75+ gallons by myself.

I always move my tanks by myself. 125g isn't so bad anymore it has 3/8" glass. I use a 4'x4' cut piece of carpet and drag it around. My 100g with 1/2" glass...that one sucks. Creep along at 1 inch a minute lol. Then you have to get it on the stand first side, no issues, lean'er up. The other end? sucks.

one of these days i'm going to actually buy a furniture dolly like I say I'm going to after each time I move the tanks...or a pallet jack...wouldn't it be awesome if they had one of those thin enough to fit between a 36" door that could also jack up as high as 40"?

The biggest glass tank I have ever picked up by myself is 75 gallons, but I've moved bigger ones by sliding them around. I have a 4x4x2 fiberglass tank with three glass windows that I can carry around by myself pretty easily - I just flip it over and carry it on my back like a turtle.... :headbang2

leveling out my 225g solo in a cramped space was a pita. moved the 55g all over solo. easy goin up and down the carpeted stairs...just slide that baby.

Always get the wonderful opportunity to move my tanks by myself. They have been up 200 gallons glass. Sand or a little bit of water still in it is do-able. I just use my table with adjustable metal legs I got on the cheap from CL, and make the height up to tank, then slide it right on top. Not too bad, but a bit of back and forth careful slow pushing and pulling. The only kryptonite in the process are steps, bumps, or stairways.

i stopped working on my tanks. i just let it turn super stinky

I can move my 75 gallon with out issue anything bigger then 4 feet long though I usually will just have someone help me quick just to make sure I don't ding a corner or have a miss hap lol
