My First Planted Tank Thread!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I am leaving the poop in but I have a dirt tank with gravel top. As for fish, give the plants some time to get in and established, they will need some nitrates, so if you have an established tank, pour a few cups worth in the plant tank.

Snail like that don't put in. If you found one, there are more. I Had them in a 29g and 4 years later I am still squishing them.

All the sand I capped with is from a cycled tank !

Not sure what the reason is behind you wanting to move the plants from the 2.5g to the 10g, but i guess they should be okay...

The only thing you will need to be careful of is algae, since 10K bulbs can be known to cause outbreaks if left on too long...

Also are you adding any ferts to this tank

Lol I just wanted to know if it can be done since the 10g is bigger i can get better fish also the 10g is in the living room and the nano is in my room so the whole family will enjoy it ! And for algae I can get alot of shrimp for that and will be getting a timer soon so I can keep a strict schedule and what are ferts? If I need them I can get them.

By Ferts, i meant as in Fertilizers... as for the 10G, no reason why you couldn't move the plants over just to see if you get any improvement on your plants... but one thing i forgot to ask is, do you have the whole Anubias plant including the rhizome buried under the substrate, since if you do, that could also be whats causing your anubias to suffer...

I researched on these two plants and knew to not burry it so I tied to a rock
