The most popular definition for Indy in America, particularly when capitalized, is about racing. Coupled with your interest in ultra dark fantasy and preferences for trolls and ogres I used the most humorous connotation.

I know what you used, but i was beyond Indiannapolis....i was into gritty noir novels, into some really good stuff that is out there....

( as a side note, i sometimes do beta reading for some of those guys over your side of the pond :) )

I just finished ''The Warded Man'' and I'm nearing the end of ''The Desert Spear'' by Peter Brett. Tomorrow I will buy ''The Daylight War''. These are the first 3 books of a soon to be 5 book series that were referred to me by another ''Game Of Thrones'' fan. Pretty good books so far :)

I am on the third volume in this series, right now....

I have a somewhat doublesided opinion on them.....

I love the complexity of the southern lands, where the warded man is ( at the point you ate in ) and i hate the simplicity of the nortren lands and most of their characters. It actually seems like it is written by two different guys.

I totally agree. I almost threw the first book in the trash after I read the first 30 pages because I thought it was so absurd. But I was on a plane and had nothing else to read, so I toughed it out. Either I like they that the story is developing, or I'm just so far in to the story that there is no backing out now... Not really sure which one. The story so far does remind me a little of Christian/Muslim relations of this day and age. The lack of cultural understanding of the different sides.
