So what are you reading right now?

I totally agree. I almost threw the first book in the trash after I read the first 30 pages because I thought it was so absurd. But I was on a plane and had nothing else to read, so I toughed it out. Either I like they that the story is developing, or I'm just so far in to the story that there is no backing out now... Not really sure which one. The story so far does remind me a little of Christian/Muslim relations of this day and age. The lack of cultural understanding of the different sides.

Fully agreed. And the difference is even more blatant in this third volume.....no more info. Not wanting To spoil it.

Have you read Prince of Thorns?

Also, check out Keith Blackmore's fantasy stuff....worth every minute spent reading.

No but I will check it out for sure. Aside from the Lord of the Rings and Game of thrones series I usually don't read science fiction or fantasy.

LOTR is the basis of all fantasy, but things have evolved much since then....you actually have better books, nowadays.

game of Thrones was out of this world, i started reading in 1996, for the firts 3 books. feast for Crows is utter manure and Dance with Dragons is only somewhat better because the PoV's are by characters we are more bound/ interested in.

Martin has lost himself in the world he crafted and sees ni way out of there...next two books will be forced, want to bet?

Oh I totally agree with you. That is IF he lives long enough to force those next two books. He is looking really frail for his age. I mean all he has to do is just outline the plot then dictate it and fill in the blanks... Let someone else co-write if he has to. I was just discussing this with my Fiance last night while we were running.

He will get them out, because he is committed to that ( awfull series ), but in any case it will not compare.

And please no co authoring. Fakest thing on earth. One James Pattersson is enough....

yes, my bad in the misspell..

Crime novelist, abused children lawyer ( he was very involved in that recent Florida case where a mother was acquitted of the killing of her child ) and, beyond anything, a keeper of rescued mastiffs....
