I will feed live foods and high protein foods...have to start off with the ebjd male I have and the female in these pics...my water is prestine, I do water changes once a week n this tank has been running about a year now...thanks hollywood I appreciate the help and will read the links you posted...

Their both doing a whole lot of digging and uprooting plants...but she hasnt got dark yet...I added a big clay pot too

Try doing a water change when they start hanging out a lot. I've heard the cooler water entering the tank represents the rainy season which stimulates breeding. Either way it seems to work for my jds

Thanks, I did that yesterday...it also works for my 5 star generals...is the digging a sign of maybe breeding? She hasnt got black yet but she does get a little dark

Digging is always a good sign. Setting up territory. The first time is always the longest. Once they breed its a lot more consistent.
