Great info Miguel, I love this stuff.

MAn, so do i!

Problem is my excited keyboarding with my gross fingers on teh ipad. I mix all the letters! :)

I think Pyrenees have lost it, being gentler in nature, they were among the first to be converted into family dogs. A bit like the saint bernard...

If you lke the genre, you look into its cousin, The spanish mountain mastiff. Loos 95% alike and has not lost it.

To show what i mean...

First Spanish Mointain mastiff, then last 2 pix ImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1365874180.780455.jpgImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1365874187.037190.jpgImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1365874194.139620.jpgImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1365874201.682602.jpgPyrenees from France ( the latter ahve beccome too cuddly, imo )

Of course i mixed the pix...

Pyrenees are the two white ones, very clean looking...

I love it too. I have children so they need to be somewhat tolerant. Im actually thinking i would like a mix of personal/property guards. Maybe 2 and 2. I've read a great deal on a lot of breeds. However haven't had sufficient space. I have been looking at either cane corso (Apple valley cane corsos) presa canarios (sanders kennels) or english mastiffs my friend has one he is going to breed with a american bulldog. We like bandogs.

You are totally inclined to person guards. See why i asked?

You cannot go wrong with english mastiffs, in any way.

Presas and Cane are also very good choices if from a responsible breeder. Go there and see the parents and the way they interact with persons and are kept...

Bandogs have everything a dog needs for me to fall in love with.

I do not know them and in my opinion they have been created dor the wrong reasons. I prefer not to give an opinion, though i am sure there are responsible breeders.

I would not hesitate with a bandog, if it was me. But i like dangerouss dogs and the challenge they pose.

I do not know you to make that suggestion, however. :)

I have no more advice to give on this except to say choose the breed carfully you don't necessisarly need the baddest dog in town, you have children and if your not experianced with some of these breeds it could turn out going very wrong dispite all the flowery rederic you read on breeders web sites. Rember they want to sell a dog. Please becarful. I attempted to suggest somthing that would give you the best of both worlds.

Exactly. They all are angels in a family environment, if you listen to breeders.

Yet, **** happens. And most of the time the dog did not even mean harm. Just wants to discipline his litter brother ( your kid )

To mix with kids, NEVER purchase unseen in loco. You need to see the environment they were born in, their parents, the way the breder family keeps them.

You do not want a lion to be in a cage
