I'm not sure but some obvious reasons to Me would be dominance, territory, and natural aggression i might be completely wrong but just giving you some possible reasons and to your comment earlier ...honestly i like silvers better idk but to me there very elegant gentle giants.. true monsters

Keeping silver aros in pairs only works about a third of the time, so consider yourself lucky.![]()
Really if they are fed well , they shouldn't fight. At least mine are like that. They only fight if I skip a day of feeding. All the other times nothing happens.
Problem is your advice is limited to only your experience. Unless you are implying that all of the hundreds of failed pairings are due to all of them being underfed.
