True freshwater morays?

Gymnothorax polyuranodon. I just opened a never ending debate, I am not saying any more after this post.

^ Agreed.....

There is NO debate. These eels ARE freshwater. The owner of this site has been keeping them for years in FW.

Get out your checkbook, they are NOT common, easy to find, or cheap. But they're out there. Best bet is to contact Wes aka Fugupuff. He's a vendor here (Rare fish).

Hmmm... I dunno about it then :/ I like this hobby but not enough to go bankrupt for a fish I can't breed and make money off of. Ill keep my high dollars for snakes.

IF a Polyuranadon is going to cause you bankruptcy then it might be wise to stick to your high dollar money making snake operation, cause keeping fish in general usually results in a loss.

I have to admit that it would be pretty cool to have though. I just don't think I would be willing to put down that amount of money on just a show fish unless I was extremely well off.

I've actually kept my white cheeked moray eel in freshwater, when I owned one in the 1990's. :)

Like actual freshwater? Not brackish? How long did you keep it like that for? I saw a video on YouTube a while back of a guy who kept baby banded catsharks in freshwater. He had them in a tank with goldfish. Really stupid IMO.

Theres always rope fish?

While polyurandon can be expensive it surely wont break you or bankrupt you. They are a very nice looking species and I am currently looking to get one.

How much do they usually go for? When I think expensive, I think the rediculous prices rare saltwater fish go for like the Clarion Angel and Dr. Seuss Soapfish
