diy driftwood from the lake

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I was curious about this actually. I heard certain wood can and cannot be used, any idea on whats safe? Also I live in north east florida... any ideas of what I can use here?

If its not hardwood don't use it. Softwoods have resins in them that are toxic to fish and no matter how long you wash them they will still have these resins.

What exactly is driftwood? Just fallen wood? Does it matter the type of wood you use?

Yes some have toxins in them but i heard if it's submerged for a period of time it will be fine. Driftwood is what you see washed up on a beach creek or lake or other body of water. That's my own definition of it
