is there any sucker that can workout well?

Hi,i just wondering,is there any algae sucking fish that can work well with bichir and the fish doesn't suck bichir's slime like plecos or flagtail characin?and also i need pretty tough algae eater,cause my bichir tankmates are datnoid,aro,and gar.thanks

i've heard bristlenose plecos do great with polys but now that i look at your stock they probably won't do aswell

I have personally kept 3 common plecos with bichirs over the years and have never had an issue. I watched a large one try to settle on my senegal once, but the bichir put up his spines and the pleco never tried it again. It might depend on the individual more than you,d think.

Bristlenoses are USUALLY fine but I still wouldn't risk it. The reason is because bristlenoses are really small fish so once the bichir outgrows it, the bichir might try to eat that pleco.
Bristlenoses have the spiky nose so that will cause serious damage to the bichir's inner organs. heard of this in several occasions.

about bristlenoses,i already had 2 of them before,and yes,as you guys saying,there were no sucking problem,but not long after that,my gar killed both of them..so i think i will skip pleco or give last try.are there any other suggestion about fish that can clean algae and pretty tough?

yeah this is why i think most people should just stay away from plecos because once they get that taste they won't stop. I right now have a rubber lip in my 75 with my polys now but thats only because i have had a horrible build up of algae in the back of my tank that i can't reach. So i would say just wipe the algae off with a rag or something and until it gets really bad don't worry about it

It all just depends on the pleco. Trial and error.

Oh yeah,how about the fish from cyprinid family?is there any cyprinid that suck algae and grow large and pretty tough,but not very aggresive?

The best way to not have algae in a tank is to do 50% Water changes every week!!! lol

Keep your lighting under control is another way. So many people like to run lighting of higher intensity for way to much time.
