Best thoricthys species?

Besides the common firemouth what do you guys think is the best thoricthys species when it comes to color? Pictures are welcome too.

I'm deciding between pasionis and Ellioti.

I'm deciding between pasionis and Ellioti.

I prefer T. pasionis over T. ellioti, in part because of personality. In my experience T. ellioti (more properly referred to as T. maculipennis I believe - ellioti is a junior synonym) are quite aggressive, whereas T. pasionis do a lot of bluffing but never really engage in anything vicious. Also depends on the color quality of the T. ellioti. Some are simply gorgeous as adults whereas others are pretty bland. I'd put up with their aggression more readily if I could be certain of a source of high quality individuals. If you go with T. ellioti, buy from a trusted source.

Here are some pics of 3-4" T. pasionis I have in a 210 gallon. They spar constantly, but never harm one another.

I got rid of a group of pasiones not too long ago. They are my favorite of the Thoricthys and do well in groups. I'm now keeping a pair of T.maculupinnis and i can already see they much more aggressive than pasiones.
