Optimal water change schedule

What about the chlorines and stuff in the tap? I know they can hurt fish, and dechlorinaters aren't instant, so could doing 50% daily harm the fish rather than help it? Also for my jag I feed him a pellet or two whenever I walk by the tank, usually adding up to about 10 large hilarious gold pellets a day. He usually tells me when he wants food by attacking the hood lol. He also gets night crawlers (leftover bait from fishing).

I use Safe from Seachem. I have an Aqueon water changer that I use to add tap water directly to the tank and have never had a problem. I am pretty sure that Seachem's Prime and Safe condition the water pretty much instantly.

What is a hilarious gold pellet? LOL

Be careful with the night crawlers. Most of them come from the wild and can carry disease or parasites that can cause illness and/or death to your fish.

i do the same as you man, i do anywhere from 5% to 10% everyday just to clean the poop from the night before, and i do a 35% to 40% WC on sundays, and everything is just fine, but i can tell you the fish really love having small water changes every day, because ever since i started doing them they have grown about 1.5 inches per month, and their color has really changed, so in other words keep doin' what you're doin'

I don't think quarantining would work. Unfortunately most worms are just carriers and don't normally suffer from the disease or parasite they carry. I would stick to frozen bloodworms. Hikari has a three stage sterilization process to virtually guarantee disease and parasite free frozen fish foods. I feed brine shrimp to my angels (they are still a bit small for bloodworms) and neons. The severums, keyholes and rams get bloodworms. For me, the frozen foods are generally just a weekly treat. They get them twice a week for their evening meal. But some people feed frozen foods once a day. A good pellet is a great staple diet that is packed with important nutrients that frozen and flake foods just don't give. Well flake foods give them, just not in large enough quantities.

I am about to do some tank relocation to my new cubby hole in the house. There is a "breakfast nook" off the kitchen that is about to become the fish nook. LOL Its too much of a pain to do daily water changes to three different rooms, but once they are all together right next to where I hook up my water changer, I might go with a daily 5-10% water change with one big 50% every week. How do you dose your conditioner for such small changes? Dose for the whole tank or just the water you replaced?

well what i do is i just dose about 2 times the amount of water changed i turn on the power heads and let the prime "mix" in the water, then i fill it up, yeah man you should really try this, your fish will really thank you trust me :)

My only issue with dosing is that I dose with Sachem's Safe. One teaspoon treats 125 gallons. I have a 1/4 teaspoon measure, but it still makes dosing for small amounts a pain. Bt I figure if I dose a little above normal it will be fine. :)

yeah i always over do the prime alittle bit and i havent had a problem yet, so you shouldnt have a problem either
