To sedate a fish?

Got it from GNC and it was the last one. It's called NOW essential oil. ingredients says 100% pure clove oil. If this is correct how can I sedate a silver arowana?

Why are you sedating a arow in the first place?

Well I was doing research and was thinking of cutting a couple of cm off of my aros anal fin. It's been shredded for about 2 months already. Medicated with melafix and salt. After use of whole bottle I just continued to use salt every w/c. And I did w/c 2x a week and still continue to do so. Not sure if I will be going through with it. But if I possibly do choose to do so i at least want to know if its the correct one.

Can you give some more tank details? Properly housed, in good clean water, regular water changes, and fed well is probably the best medicine. Not saying you're not already doing that, but usually in optimal conditions fins will heal up quite well on their own.

I'm possibly wrong here, but good chance you Kill your aro trying this.

Yes still doing a little research on how to do it right if I'm going to do it. When it comes down to it ill end up backing out of it and hope for the best. And you maybe correct I might kill it

Ohh definitely housed in a 55 grow out then will upgrade to a bigger then bigger then bigger tank. Will be getting married soon so will have more tank space when I move. Params are almost perfect. Nitrites are in between 5 to 10ppm. These fins have gone to a point where it looks like it will not heal. That's why I was looking up on this clove oil as a last resort. But don't know how to go about it.

How big is the aro?

Nitrites in the system mean your bio can't handle the fish. This is the cause of your fin issue. Upgrade something like tank and then add more filtration. Cheap way is sponge filters. Then watch your aros magically heal up. If it has been in the 55 for more then 3 months it should be to big for it.
