Jag, red terror and buttikoferi electric yellow

I love Jaguars, Butti's no so much, i have had them and i never really warmed up to them, and the agression was a myth to me. Every fish i ever had in my tank with them was the agressor, they counter attacked but i never truly saw the agression i expected I had two @ 9 inches plus continously punked by Dempseys, Texas's, & Red Devils smaller then they were. I am much happier with the Dovii species they are certainly as advertised!!!! 100%.
 
It is funny how life experiences point to different venues.
Kept loads of jags. All sissies.

Kept several ( still have one beast ) butti male i can only describe as a serial killer.

Not one of my bulls, and i have a lot of big ones, has a chance, as any attempt to cohab the butti has prooven.
 
Its a big enough tank for them both as long as they get along. Its a wait and see kind of deal. There are a lot of exceptions to every rule about fish aggression by species. Some go against the grain. You'll just have to see how they develop. If one of them is a Badass and doesn't want a tank mate, you'll find out. Target fish are sometimes helpful, but that's when a bigger tank will certainly be what you need if you want them to stay together.

I have even had fish that were fine for a while, decide they hate each other later.

see the thing is with jags its 60/40. 40% chance they are docile. with buttis its like 90/10. and you know this MANNN!
