How much is a bonded pair of Gorillus Umbee?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
They are not just another pair of umbee! That statement offends me and proves your ignorance and lack of expirience with umbees or gorillus!! You would have to raise them to be able to have an opinion. Can't judge a book by its cover bro.

We have a mutual friend, Sean (house 64), go ahead and ask him just how ''ignorant'' I am about cichlid keeping. I have kept umbees before in the past, way before they were the ''in'' fish to keep, and I choose not to keep them now because I'd like to keep more than 1 fish in a 240 gallon tank. The OP asked for our opinions on how much WE personally thought they would be worth. That was my PERSONAL opinion. For you to get personally offended by my opinion about umbees is absurd. Props to you for keeping and raising great looking fish, but if me calling an umbee and umbee offends you, I can't help that.

Basically they are worth what a buyers willing to pay, I've been offered bonded breeding pairs and also 2x fish (pair) from YoungxPockus for a very reasonable price. It's just the supply and demand, just like anything in life. Someone who's not wanting to wait will pay to get adolescent fish, I know I have. But once the demand is supplied prices will level out. As a hobby, breeders should agreed to some kind of set prices, that'll just keep fish more desirable. I've given plenty of fish away, but I'd like my friends who decided they no longer want them offer them out at fair market value so it just keeps them as fair game to others who might want to sell their similar size/quality fish. My 2 cents bro, I know I'm not gonna get mutual agreements here but I wish you luck finding your answers?

Just for pics:
She's too big for DeeBo, so I just received DeeBo's proven mate, she's more for him, he don't like them thick ones yet!

I wasn't offended by your opinion of what you think they were worth. I was merely laughing at the fact that you considered a gorillus umbee to be the same as any other umbee. Which is why I said before you go ahead and stereotype the gorillus to be just like a blue umbee, that you should keep a gorillus to see how different they really are.

I was not trying to be smart with you. I personally consider a bonded pair something of a myth, considering there is really no such thing. But that is besides the point. For me, bonded would not add additional value. If they had spawned before, I would consider them more valuable.

I can't give you a price, totally depends on supply and demand. We fish keepers usually want what we can't have, its funny how much price varies from place to place simply because that fish is more common in one area. Whats really funny is how a fish is worthless, so everybody ditches it, and in five years everybody is dropping money to have it again because it became hard to find.

Sorry if my post was completely worthless..

The Gorillus female is nicer looking fish over the male Gorillus for me..

My female was deep blue like a male. I thought she was a male. Now she's pale white taro. I love Gorillus females!
