12 inch sun catfish- SHOULD I GET IT???

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If you have the right accomodations for it, sure, get it. If you are unsure about his condition, ask for more and better photos.

Are you sure of the 12"? Anyhow, they don't grow that slow in a large enough tank/pond, perhaps a few to several years to a 12" mark.

Ask the seller for another pic. That "cloudy eye" could just be glare from the camera. I have a 9" sun cat that is one year old. If its being fed well and gets frequent water changes they CAN grow quick.

True but let's not forget good genes and other favorable circumstances, e.g., your water is particularly suitable for your sun cat. Anyhow, thank you and great to know that they can grow at a better pace. What size did you get it at one year ago? You must not have started with an egg/fry?

I am just hoping that iit is big enough to NOT get eaten by a 26 inch clown knife... Wish me luck!
