I no longer use norton after malware hid inside it. When the norton company found it remotely and tried to remove it, the malware damaged the internet connection files and disconnected itself. Had to wipe the whole pc clean.
Now I use avast and spysweeper.
Norton's is also an incredible power hog. It will suck up memory and CPU processes like crazy. Believe it or not another good one to check out thats free is the Microsoft security essentials. Low power consumption, works well, never had issues and best of all free. But get rid of Nortons.
What do you use as a browser? Could be an issue here.
Also I would recommend this free utility. Run it in pro mode. Have it check EVERYTHING and repair EVERYTHING. Ive had this program correct many issues for people.
Advanced system care.

After running it do a restart and it will also do some system fixer up during boot. Should help your overall performance and speed of your machine.
thanks so much again.. i will run this now and get back to you later........ thanks !!!!
It says it fixed 50 errors. I have alot more..i would need to purchase to have the others fixed.. is this what you run ..does it do everything.. virus and malware.. could i use this instead of norton.. have to run..thanks for help
This program is more of a maintenance aid then anything. I run it weekly a couple times. I normally just use the free version and it helps tons. I use Microsoft Security Essentials for my antivirus. Its free and works well and best of all its not a power hog and its optimized to work with windows.
