lets see those suncats

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ya, it does worry me a little, and i do keep a watchful eye for any agression. Though if they just turn one day, there may be no warning. So far they don't even pay attention to the smaller folk in the tank. I do keep them fat with tilapia and shrimp, so maybe that helps. I'm currently drying out a larger piece of driftwood that provides more hiding space, so that should help as well. All i can do is stay vigilant i guess and hope for the best until i can find everyone a larger home. If anyone see a cheap 450 for sale in texas, give me a heads up!

hey i thought i may get this started again so more pictures GO!!!

anybody have more pics of their suncats?
c'mon lets give this thread some CPR with the awesomeness of the suncats

lol, you saw the vid of mine going back into the 100 gal. It would be incredible to see someone keep one of these with more than adequate care for 20+ years under currently knowledge. Give them all the advantages of being homed in captivity and see just how big we can raise them. Mine are just nuts! Fat as heck. I'd love to see some more pics of peoples. That being said I'd love to see some recent pics of the 15" one being measured as well.

Just wondering, what do you feet your suncats? I throw all sorts of food in my tank and mine doesn't seem to touch any of it. Mine grew from 2 too 4.5 inches and just seemed to stop. He lives in a 180 and is offered food twice a day. What am I doing wrong?

i feed him all kinds of food: bloodworms, brineshrimp, sprenula brineshimp, chopped silversildes, krill, plankton, and more that i can't remember off the top of my head
but anyways you must be offering food with the light on most catfish hate light
