Incoming 2-3k pond project in my crawl space!!

I wouldn’t insinuate that you would actually do anything to damage the house. The unfortunate reality is that has nothing to do with liability. All the home owner would have to do is have an inspector on his side to say that something you did contributed or caused anything wrong with the home. Especially if you never got their permission to do these things.

Just looking out for you man.

It does sound like a cool idea though. Who wouldn’t want to have their own secret hidey pond?

I got called into work which is a god thing i can use the extra money. Get things done a lil faster on this build. If i do get pics today it will be later tonight. I dont think it would take very much to level out.

That is an idea spiff but i would still need to insulate it, put a pond liner in it, buid a filter, and still do a custom lid. So really would end up costing about the same and not as sturdy. Also the height would probably be an issue in this space as well. Its a good thought but they are pretty much crap and require a lot of modification to use properly. I went this route before and it was a nightmare with all the leaks and trying to heat it.

This is the crap pics i got with my crap cell. Lol not much light in the space right now just a single light bulb.

New noted potential issues would be that i need to check the clearance on the heater vents. Def dont want anything resting against those in the winter.

Other than that the slope on the side i will use is not really a slope just uneven and not level. Plastic slides right back and dirt underneath is fairly loose. Should be able to level the area pretty easy. I might get some lights down there and start on that tomorrow taking pics of course. Need tobget the tape down there also tomorrow and check for any unforseen clearance issues. The clearance in this space is the major issue. If i have to go less than 20" in height i will likely call this build off. Would be very difficult to filter or house any large fish with less than that height.

Took me a while to figure that out haha...it looks a bit tight down there. Lighting will prob show the size better. Not gonna lie its a bit sketchy but so is the space under my front porch im using. I think u can get away with a 24" height. What are ur thoughts about a seal with bulkheads through pondliner? U could run a sump next to it rather than on top.

Probably just going to run an in tank filter. :) i know their not as efficient but should work fine. I've had no issues doing this over the years. Another idea would be to make a wet dry barrel that sits in the pond with prefilter bucket in the pond. Top half of the barrel would stick above a bit and be wet dry but the bottom half completely submerged with air stones in it. Kind of like an in pond ghetto sump. :) keeps it real simple. Could also make a compartment with the heater eventualky in there as well. Made this type filter before and really takes all the fuess work out since it is already in the waterlol
