Rare Black Bass Project

Brandon that's a beautiful pond bro, Suwannee bass would be perfect, especially if you can breed them to bring out the turquoise color in their cheeks; I just hope your pond is big enough.

If it were me I would have built a pond that could hold several thousand gallons minimum. Plus these bass are not suitable for the area as well. It is gonna be a struggle to breed them. You won't be able to "establish" this species unless you have several ponds and tanks.

Thank you very much, I hope so too!

Unforutnately thats not an option living in a .61 acre yard suburban house w/ parents :(. I was going to build one 26' x 24' x 3-9' deep but couldnt find a pond liner cheap enough.

Raise that baby...build a frame that comes up outta 2x4 and ply. It would look better that way to...would look like a nice planter box pond if its done right. ANd im sure your folks would appreciate that. Gives you some extra gallonage and depth as well to keep preds out.

How should i seal it though?

I think he means taking the liner that is extra and pulling it up and over the 2x4s.

Oh that gotcha.

You have gone to long without an update. Why are you on probation?

yeah sorry i am very busy. i created a little bog next to the pond for taro and cattails.

Here it is. The part inside the bricks will be lined with pea gravel as a little sitting area with a bench and table. Pond is cycling with some lmb fingerlings and chubs. Got some cattails for the bog. Pond is planted with cambomba and anarchis. Anarchis to cambomba ratio is 2:1. Will keep everyone updated! All i need to do is add fish, plant 2 more plants, mulch the beds, add pea gravel and the bench. All that will be done tommorrow. The plants wont really fill out until a year or two, so i just have to be patient!
