My GATF/TATF Growout Shoal Thread

I believe the silver dollars in my tank are breeding, one of them chases another one and tries to get side by side, when he does he does this shaking motion kinda like rubbing against each other. They are only 2" big though. Anyone else have thoughts on this?

And my apologies on not updating as much. I am working on a new 300 gallon long tank for these guys. Also I purchased a brevis african tiger fish. It will be shipped sometime this weekend, stay tuned

My Tin Foil barbs have been doing that four inches ago. At first I thought the same thing. But nothing ever happens so I think it's like a social thing. It's not aggression but it's not mating either.

I recently traded my complete 125 setup that was housing the tiger fish for a 300 gallon tank so i had to move them. Took the opportunity to get some really close up shots of my fish using my iphone. Really wish I had the cannon though, i couldnt find my memory card. Also went out and bought more dither fish for my tigers to beat up on, felt a little guilty lying to the petsmart lady about the tankmates my 3 bala sharks, 3 albino tin foil barbs, and 1 Cigar Shark were going to be in with.

The tigers are really putting on some size and looking great! Did you get the brevis? But lol I would've said the same thing to petsmart.

My Tin Foil barbs have been doing that four inches ago. At first I thought the same thing. But nothing ever happens so I think it's like a social thing. It's not aggression but it's not mating either.

Yeah I am starting to feed 3 times a day now. And no I had to pass on the brevis The owner wanted 150 for it + 70$ for shipping/packaging material and then another 75$ to ship it airport to airport.

What are you feeding them mainly? My little goliath is on sinking carnivore pellets and its growing fast. $70 is ridiculous for shipping materials... It's just a box with styrofoam, newspapers and bags.

I feed them hikari carnisticks, but its good you have them on carnivore it has more protein. Do you break the pellets in half or thirds?

And yeah as much as i wanted it I couldn't justify. Lets just all hope Rob's brevis makes it so we can enjoy it through him!

Don't get your hopes up on my fish. He's doing REALLY bad. I have him in a hospital tank with some zebra danios, but I don't expect him to make it.
