Thanks man. He is a pain in the royal zzz. Impossible to clean his tank without getting nailed. So I use a divider when doing so. Can you Imagine how much meaner he will be if he had fry in the tank lol... Straight up Lunatic!!!!!
Exactly! So just because you aint never seen it doesn't mean it doesn't happen. I believe each cichlid is a individual and personality can differ even among same species. So to say the Rio Magdalena blue Freckled Umbee is more aggressive then Gorillus is nonsense. I've kept plenty of both and have found different personalities among them. Both variants are built strong to inflict a lot of damage on other tank mates and Umbee Keeper
and both can have a physcopothic personality its just a matter of waiting to see what type of personality your Umbee will have.Insane!!.....And well fed one at that too!! Lovely colour is the only thing nice about him I guess!

Chris the one that I got from you back in March is now over 10 inches and he is doing the same thing. He bit the tar out of me last week when I dropped my guard and drew blood while siphoning his tank. Its not good when they figure out that it is better to bite the hand holding the siphon than the siphon itself 
He is becoming a maniac. For those who have not pulled the trigger on getting this beautiful varient of Umbees you need to give them a try they are real deal.
