Some POS decided to break in to my jeep last night..broke the back lock with a crow bar and crawled threw, shattered the dash panel to get at an old CD player that might of been decent and worth 100$ 10 years go. Tore everything apart stole my Tom Tom ...and get this...a pile of burp rags my friend made for me..WTF people?! ..they also took all the granola bars out of the console..a bunch of napkins and a stack of real estate books I deliver once a month...Classy

on top of that it looks like they had tried to hot wire the jeep as well to steal it, mostly destroying my steering column.

I spent all morning talking to cops and my insurance...being so emotional it was stupid!!!

I hate the feeling of some stranger having gone threw with such intent and touching my personal things. It creeps me out more than the stealing. ...gah stupid stressful day AND STUPID PEOPLE.

Sorry to hear and hope it's all resolved quickly. I've been through the exact same thing so I know how you feel. Too bad we can't treat car thieves like they used to treat horse thieves in the Wild West.

welcome to the NW. i've had my explorer broken into twice and the mazda once. atleast they didn't try to steal it though. i just leave my car unlocked now so they don't break my windows

no windows were broken thank god...but they did try to steal it and failed the steering column is all messed up now.

they even tore off my rear view mirror ..but the cop found prints on it and took them just in case.

we don't live in the best of areas at least once a year there is a drive by shooting a few blocks down.

Im just glad I have full coverage insurance.
 
sounds like a druggie looking for some quick bucks to buy a fix. clearly not a decent car their or even a beginner.

windows are cheap to fix but i just hate having to drive it into the shop with broken glass everywhere

Where the hell do you live in the NW that's that bad? I have been all over Oregon and it's 1000x better than southern ca crime wise.

Once in vancouver, twice in Eugene. They're actually real low crime areas. In eugene they were both Friday the 13th so I'm sure it's someone thinking its amusing to prowl on that day

Vancouver use to have a lot of chop shop operations. Not sure about now
