So long story short, I had to move my 6 geo red heads (2-2.5" each) into the 125 with a 3-3.5" heckelii threadfin acara. I noticed the heckelii get aggressive during feeding times and has chased the geos away from a spot that has food.

Does anyone have experience keeping these fish together? My priority is to the geos, so if the threadfin is going to get nasty with them, I will rehome it.

i have 4 redheads and one heckelii. the redheads are probably 3.5" heckelii is little bit bigger and I have never had a problem very peaceful together

i have a 150 where the heckelli are the largest fish in the tank, I make sure I scatter pellets along the entire length of the tank when I feed. The heckelli tend to want to hog whatever they can, and by scattering it, the smaller fish have a better chance at getting their fair share .

I keep a threadfin with 5 red-head Tapajos in a 110 gallon and have never had a problem. My current threadfin is smaller than the Geos, but previously I kept a larger threadfin (6") with a group of 3-4" red heads and there was still no problem.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I will spread out feeding locations more to help avoid this too much. The threadfin never bullied the other fish he was with during feeding time, but the other tankmates are/were his size or larger.

What is the fish with the two vertical black stripes in the middle of the pic? It's very pretty.

the heckelii was there first & probably just being territorial. if you can, move him elsewhere while the redheads settle in for a few days, then put him back in with some decor changes to shake his confidence a bit.
Mine don't even bother baby redheads.

Might have to do that. If I see him being aggressive outside of food situations, I will follow your recommendation. Thanks. :)
