Cheap but efficient canister filters?

Checkout odyssey cfs 500 I've ran them for about a year I even bought a couple for friends we all like them around 60 bucks on eBay
 
Not too familiar with that version. This would be the comparable version to mine

do you think a 265 GPH sun sun would be good for my 35g tank gonna be planted in the next couple months, stock include a Polypterus senegalus, Synodontis Multiplicanus, and 4 cory cats Planning to add 1 more cory, a butterfly fish and some small schooling tetras would this be good with weekly water changes?

That's a lot of stock for a 35. Maybe get the canister then see how it handles you bio/mech load.
 
I've have my sunsun for a few years now and am happy with it for the price I paid. Mine didn't come with the UV but that wasn't important to me anyways. The only complaint I have is that the media baskets are lower quality plastic and will crack if you're not careful with them. But I paid less that $70 for it shipped it's not a big deal if I even have to replace the entire thing every few years.
