THE AMAZON
Well I was at the hospital last night, for my daughter(nothing major thank god she's good now)
I noticed a 60gallon fishtank in the corner of the waiting room.
I noticed there were 6 angelfish,1earth eater,1clown loach,3 gouramis,1 reg pleco,1 striped catfish, and a bunch of deco...
I see this bichir coming from behind,to me he looks a little too skinny, and I noticed a bump under his tail fin,and was wondering if he's fine... The tank was pretty dirty, waste on the floor, algae on deco and tank...anyways here's picsImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1378183003.329742.jpgImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1378183113.038126.jpg
I felt bad for the bichir since I'm a huge bichir lover, I asked a nurse at the front window but didn't have a clue about the fish or who took care of them? I want to take him home with me, and fatten him up a bit more just dont know who to contact or speak to?

this is why i have such a love / hate relationship with display tanks in public places like this... most of the time the fish or the tank itself gets neglected, yet you can see so much potential for it... shame really...

This is also the case in my grans nursing home , sometimes the algae completely covers the glass on tank , I have said something to maintenance staff but there too busy apparently (dont have a tank then) :(

Get in contact with the nurse manager of the area in which you saw the aquarium.He/she should be able to tell you something about it...One hospital I've been to here has a small tank set up in one the waiting areas. The tank stand has a label affixed to it that has information on who donated the tank as well as the aquarium maintenance company that tends to it.

There might be another side to the coin. I know several places that have a contracted company come out and care for the tank. From there it goes both ways. Sometimes they don't wany to pay, and it sits dirty. Sometimes the company neglects a client and the same result happens.

I wrote a letter and hope to hear from them soon,I hate seeing fish like that but I guess to some people caring for fish isn't the same as any other pet

I've been good... Just busy at work...

Its good to hear you actually did offer your services to them even though they may not have taken you up on it...

I once thought about doing the same at an acquaintances shop, except i realized i wouldnt be able to keep up with the commitment in the long term... So props to you ;)
