Other than the obvious tail fin color, no, they essentially look just like each other; basically, they have the same body profile and everything. Now the A. Stalsbergi is a totally different story, although they still are very similar.

sometimes the band just is not as intensified until they mature a little bit. Usually they are but some take a little bit, similar to when the males tail color becomes significantly broader. Great-looking fish, how big is this one? In my experiences the ones that look like they are going to be white are obviously white and the ones that look like they are going to have gold are obviously gold; sometimes the gold is difficult to identify because the gold has not intensified yet or the band has not thickened enough yet. Similar to fry, the color is not evident until the fish matures to a certain point influenced by his genetics and somewhat the environment, some fish just take a little longer to mature enough to his or her own specific point in which the color becomes evident, but usually this is at a fairly young age though but every fish is different. If anybody wants to see a great green terror, you should check out this guy's adult male.
