Jim, wow thanks for the info! I've never heard a peep about this before. I do see more risk for shock in your 2 examples, but they still may show a vulnerability in heckelii.
He might've gotten more krill than he could 'handle' that night. I saw no blockage in his throat, but he was greedy during my BGK feedings, which recently started taking krill from me at the surface. I targeted the ghost's mouth & tried not to let Bubba get big pieces, but some was dropped.
I always felt like his sparkle was too good to be true in my tank. It's like something out of a fairy tale, especially the way they get better & better all the time after maturity. I loved telling people it's beauty straight from nature.
I know there are plenty juvies available, just wish I could nab one that's not quite such a long wait for the glory ;-)
