Sweet as usual Keep. Does the army get nervous at all in there or is he pretty mellow?

Like wild caught sunfish??? Do you feed fish like this regularly? Mind sharing what your Armatus's diet consists of?

Every now and again. Not too bad. He gets worked up occasionally fighting the sd's and will splash water after fanging them. If the eel tries to take a piece of fish from him he may pout afterward and not eat until the next day.
But really compared he is pretty calm.
When he is hungry he will patrol the tank like a shark

Im loving all of your stock...the armatus looks mint as well as the rays....and that gar is a hog.

Yeah,from the creek down the road lol..I don't normally give him any live food...strictly shrimp,tilapia and squid occasionally...We all know that armatus don't take any kind of change well and I think relocating my cichla and leaving him by himself in the tank is what set him off on a hunger strike...hasn't touched a thing in about a month until a few days ago..The sunfish are mainly bycatch as I am after the minnows and killifish...I keep a tank of them conditioned for my Chinese Perch.

I'm sure it's no worse then feeding frogs or crayfish...... lol ;)

I've never really understood why it matters if the feeders come from the wild or the pet store, as long as they're conditioned food is food right? Seems much easier to find thiaminise free feeders in the wild then any pet store.

I'm really excited that he's doing well..... I've always loved Armatus and the thought of not being able to keep them is about as heartbreaking as it gets for a hobbyist like me that found this site on a quest for care info on Payara.

I even told myself never again after the last batch, but like you said, they're such a great fish it's worth it.
 
I'd love to drop in a frog or a few tadpoles but there aren't any around and I refuse to pay three bucks each lol....
